Printed and framed to order, ready to hang when it arrives. Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a solid wood frame: White (gallery white), Black (matte black) or Red Oak (warm wood).
Printed to order on thick matte paper, shipped rolled for your own frame. We use 189 gsm (10.3 mil) matte paper with a smooth, glare-free finish and archival inks. It ships rolled in a sturdy cardboard tube, may hold a slight curl, and flattens overnight under a book. It fits any standard frame of that size. Prefer it framed? Choose Framed above for a solid wood frame in White, Black or Red Oak.
Available in 8″×10″ and 16″×20″.
Hanging hardware is included. These measurements refer to the print size. The wood frame adds about 0.75″ on each side, so the framed piece is roughly 1.5″ wider and taller than the print.
For unframed prints, the selected size is the paper size and fits a standard frame of that size. A frame adds about 1 inch on each side.
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
For me, the story here begins with the eyes and with their contrast against the dry branches of the date palm. The erect dayflower bloomed at the foot of the palm, and that led me to this special portrait.

The Botanicals Behind the Artwork
Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Commelina flowers often open for just one day.
A clear gaze that finds wonder in a brief bloom.
Date palms carry their flowers on long branched inflorescences.
Weathered strands become movement, memory, and resilience.
Cacti grow from special points called areoles, where spines and flowers can form.
A dry fragment becomes a sheltering crown of endurance.
Dates are the sweet fruits of female date palm trees.
Small golden accents bring nourishment and warmth.
Plumeria flowers are known for their waxy petals and sweet fragrance.
Soft color gathers at the heart like tenderness.
