Materials & framing
Printed and framed to order, ready to hang when it arrives. Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a solid wood frame: White (gallery white), Black (matte black) or Red Oak (warm wood).
Printed to order on thick matte paper, shipped rolled for your own frame. We use 189 gsm (10.3 mil) matte paper with a smooth, glare-free finish and archival inks. It ships rolled in a sturdy cardboard tube, may hold a slight curl, and flattens overnight under a book. It fits any standard frame of that size. Prefer it framed? Choose Framed above for a solid wood frame in White, Black or Red Oak.
Size & fit
Available in 10″×8″ and 20″×16″.
Hanging hardware is included. These measurements refer to the print size. The wood frame adds about 0.75″ on each side, so the framed piece is roughly 1.5″ wider and taller than the print.
For unframed prints, the selected size is the paper size and fits a standard frame of that size. A frame adds about 1 inch on each side.
The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
Here the little elephant is playing with the water it sprays, because my granddaughter also loves to play in water.

The Botanicals Behind the Artwork
7 real botanicals composed the original artwork
Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Green pods and leaves (legs)
Seed pods protect developing seeds until they are ready to spread.
The sturdy legs suggest curiosity moving forward with confidence.
Pale dried leaves (head and ear)
Leaves use veins to carry water and sugars through the plant.
The gentle head brings a feeling of kindness and wonder.
Yellow and magenta petals (spraying trunk)
Bright petals often help attract pollinators.
The raised trunk feels like laughter splashing into the air.
Tiny green leaves (water droplets)
Leaves make plant sugars through photosynthesis.
The little droplets echo the delight of playing with water.
Curled brown pods (back details)
Many dry pods split open to release their seeds.
Their curled shapes add warmth, texture, and a playful rhythm.
Brown bark pieces (ground)
Bark helps protect stems from injury and drying out.
The earthy ground gives the little elephant a safe place to play.
