Flowers evolved their boldest colors mainly to flag down passing bees, birds, and butterflies.

Printed and framed to order, ready to hang when it arrives. Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a solid wood frame: White (gallery white), Black (matte black) or Red Oak (warm wood).
Printed to order on thick matte paper, shipped rolled for your own frame. We use 189 gsm (10.3 mil) matte paper with a smooth, glare-free finish and archival inks. It ships rolled in a sturdy cardboard tube, may hold a slight curl, and flattens overnight under a book. It fits any standard frame of that size. Prefer it framed? Choose Framed above for a solid wood frame in White, Black or Red Oak.
Available in 8″×10″ and 16″×20″.
Hanging hardware is included. These measurements refer to the print size. The wood frame adds about 0.75″ on each side, so the framed piece is roughly 1.5″ wider and taller than the print.
For unframed prints, the selected size is the paper size and fits a standard frame of that size. A frame adds about 1 inch on each side.
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
Flowers have always held a special place in my heart. For eighteen years I worked as a florist, creating floral arrangements. My hands eventually grew tired, but my love for flowers and the endless possibilities of combining them never faded.
Today I still arrange flowers, only in a different way. Through my art I create floral compositions that are more sustainable, giving nature's beauty a new and lasting life. This piece is one of those arrangements, one that will never wilt, made to keep a corner of someone's home quietly in bloom.

The Botanicals Behind the Artwork
Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Flowers evolved their boldest colors mainly to flag down passing bees, birds, and butterflies.
beauty and fleeting joy
Bermuda buttercup has clover-shaped leaves of three heart-shaped leaflets, and its name Oxalis comes from the Greek word for sour.
cheer and good fortune
Once basil flowers, its leaves turn bitter, so cooks pinch off the blooms to keep the flavor sweet.
good wishes and affection
Elephant bush got its name because elephants in South Africa love to munch its small, juicy round leaves.
abundance and endurance
A banana plant's stem is not wood at all but tightly rolled leaf bases that peel away in soft layers.
new beginnings and renewal
Autumn's red leaves are the plant's grand finale, glowing brightest in the days just before they fall.
graceful endings and change
