The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
This began with a new book I bought for my granddaughter, a story about two squirrels and an acorn. I read it to her again and again, and she enjoyed it every single time. That shared ritual inspired me to create this piece.
A little story became a beautiful memory, and that memory found its way into my art through real leaves and autumn finds. I love the thought of these two squirrels living in a child's room, waiting patiently for their story to be read one more time.
