The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
This artwork began with an unexpected evening encounter. While we were walking in the woods, our dog suddenly disappeared. Moments later we heard his cries and saw him returning to us, limping, confused, and looking rather embarrassed. He had met a porcupine.
Our dog was ready for a playful encounter, but the porcupine clearly had other plans. After carefully removing the quills, I kept them, and those very quills became the foundation for the porcupine in this artwork. A small moment of chaos in nature became a story of curiosity and humor, and it now brings a smile to every home it enters.
