Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a wood frame. Choose White, Black, or Red Oak.

The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
This is one of the first portraits I ever created. In those days I would discover my figures among the plants, gathering whatever I found around the trees and carrying the treasures home until the idea came alive inside me. I have always been fascinated by the large pods that hang from trees, and the Golden Shower Tree carries some of the most striking ones.
Around that time I met a woman from my studies who had beautiful dreadlocks. The tree and the woman met in my imagination, and this creation was born. She still feels grounded and strong to me, and that is what she offers a home.

Dark purple bean pods (possibly hyacinth bean)
Hyacinth bean vines wear such glossy purple pods that gardeners grow them just for the show.
Purple pods echo dignity and quiet richness.
Golden shower tree leaves (Cassia fistula)
A rolled leaf is nature's origami, often how new leaves stay tucked and protected before they unfurl.
Green leaves stand for renewal and hope.
Small pine cone
Pine cones open and close with the weather, spreading their seeds only on dry breezy days.
Pine cones symbolize enlightenment, fertility and lasting life.
Sausage tree flower (Kigelia), dried
Some deep-red star flowers skip perfume for a whiff of decay to pull in flies as pollinators.
Deep red blooms carry passion and deep emotion.
Trumpet tree seed pods (Tabebuia)
Locust and acacia pods rattle when dry, a tiny percussion section shaking loose next year's trees.
These pods signify secret love and resilience.

A petal's velvety feel comes from cone-shaped surface cells that also make the color glow richer.
