Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a wood frame. Choose White, Black, or Red Oak.

As a little girl, I dreamed of becoming an artist. I could not wait for my first art lessons at school. Instead, a few discouraging words from my teacher made me question my ability, and my confidence disappeared almost overnight. For many years I believed that chapter of my life had ended.
But some dreams do not disappear. They simply wait patiently until we are ready to find them again. Every piece I create is proof of that, and each one carries a quiet reminder into your home: it is never too late to return to what you love.

Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Tree bark (the body)
Bark is a tree's raincoat and armor, regrowing itself as the trunk widens each year.
Wood and bark symbolize endurance and shelter.
Pumpkin rind (the pants and sun)
Yellow petals often act like landing lights, guiding bees straight to the nectar.
Yellow blooms carry joy, friendship and new beginnings.
Flat-leaf parsley
Parsley is a slow starter, famously taking so long to sprout that folklore said it visited the underworld first.
