Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a wood frame. Choose White, Black, or Red Oak.
Size & fit

These measurements refer to the print size. The wood frame adds about 0.75″ on each side, so the framed piece is roughly 1.5″ wider and taller than the print.

The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
As a child, I always preferred to be outdoors. Back then we made our own kites from paper and thin wooden sticks, and it was one of my favorite things to do. When I started creating my child figures, I realized that somewhere inside them there is a little bit of the child I once was.
My memories, my experiences, and the simple joys of the past keep finding their way into the characters I create. This piece carries that feeling of a kite pulling at the string, and I love the thought of it lifting a child's room, or any room, with the same light freedom.

Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Bark strip (the palm trunk)
Bark is a tree's armor, constantly renewing from the inside to seal off scrapes and pests.
A sturdy trunk symbolizes strength, grounding and steady support.
Orange nasturtium
Nasturtium flowers and leaves are peppery enough to spice a salad like garden-grown wasabi.
