Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a wood frame. Choose White, Black, or Red Oak.

The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
It began with mandalas made from leaves, twigs, petals, and seeds, arranged on the ground and left for the wind to scatter. Then something unexpected happened. I began to see women's faces in the trunks and branches of trees, and I could not ignore them.
I started collecting natural materials and, back home, carefully composed these faces by hand. Without realizing it, I had found my own artistic language. Every portrait like this one speaks it, and each brings a face the trees showed me into your home.

Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Carrots and seasonal spring flowers (the crown)
Carrots were purple and yellow long before orange ones were bred into the star we know today.
Root vegetables symbolize nourishment and grounding.
Fine twigs and roots (the hair and body outline)
Roots can sense gravity and steer their growth downward toward it, a plant skill called gravitropism.
Roots and twigs stand for heritage, grounding, and connection.
Yellow ray petals (chrysanthemum or daisy type, the dress)
The showy petals of a daisy are actually individual ray florets, each one a tiny flower in disguise.
Yellow petals mean joy, friendship, and optimism.
Small orange and white flowers (the crown)
White flowers often glow at dusk to draw moths, while bright ones save their pull for daytime bees.
White blooms mean purity and fresh starts, and orange adds warmth.
Small purple flower (the lips)
Purple petals get their royal hue from anthocyanin pigments that can shift shade with the plant's acidity.
Purple flowers stand for grace, dignity, and admiration.
