Fresh green pine needles caught my attention on one of my walks. I played with them, twisted them in my hands, and instantly knew they would become the hair of this young woman in Half Moon Pose.
Sometimes a single natural element already holds the idea for an entire artwork. You simply have to see what it wants to become. She found her balance on my worktable, and now she holds it beautifully on a wall, bringing a moment of steadiness to the room around her.
