Materials & framing
Printed and framed to order, ready to hang when it arrives. Printed on premium luster paper with rich color and fine detail, protected behind a clear acrylic front, and set in a solid wood frame: White (gallery white), Black (matte black) or Red Oak (warm wood).
Printed to order on thick matte paper, shipped rolled for your own frame. We use 189 gsm (10.3 mil) matte paper with a smooth, glare-free finish and archival inks. It ships rolled in a sturdy cardboard tube, may hold a slight curl, and flattens overnight under a book. It fits any standard frame of that size. Prefer it framed? Choose Framed above for a solid wood frame in White, Black or Red Oak.
Size & fit
Available in 10″×8″ and 20″×16″.
Hanging hardware is included. These measurements refer to the print size. The wood frame adds about 0.75″ on each side, so the framed piece is roughly 1.5″ wider and taller than the print.
For unframed prints, the selected size is the paper size and fits a standard frame of that size. A frame adds about 1 inch on each side.
The Story Behind the Artwork
“Every leaf, twig, petal, and seed becomes a brushstroke.”
Cats have always been part of my life, and they always loved sitting among the plants in my garden.

The Botanicals Behind the Artwork
6 real botanicals composed the original artwork
Shirley arranged each leaf, pod, stem, and natural fiber by hand before photographing the finished composition.
Pink and blue anemones (the headline)
The anemone is named for the Greek wind, anemos, because its petals tremble at the slightest breeze.
fleeting beauty
Strawberry plant (heavy with fruit)
A strawberry plant sends out runners that root into whole new plants, a garden cloning itself.
generosity that spreads
Purple stock (the tall tower)
Stock releases its strongest fragrance at dusk, perfuming the garden after work is done.
reward at day's end
Leaf owl (the supervisor)
Owls turn their heads instead of their eyes; their eyes are fixed in place like binoculars.
quiet oversight
Onion (the resident)
An onion is a bulb of stacked leaf bases, a whole plant folded into storage for winter.
